The Big Secret About Pinot

There are some people in the wine industry that say Pinot is somewhat misunderstood. Perhaps we are all misunderstood at times. It has been recently discovered that all Pinot varieties are not only related but they are, in fact, the same.

Tempranillo Grape Infusion

Well known for their creative and tasteful blends of drinks and delicious tapas, Elements Tapas Bar & Lounge in Medford visited us at the winery this past week during harvest. Our new winemaker, Kent, hand selected some our Tempranillo grapes directly from the vine for Chris. His idea; infuse recently harvested local tempranillo grapes with vodka. We are looking forward to trying Chris' new Tempranillo infused vodka masterpiece!

Vintage Barn Turned Tasting Room

Restore Oregon (restoreoregon.com) published a wonderful article about the RoxyAnn Tasting Room remodel. Originally a barn part of Hillcrest Orchards and now on the historic national register, the tasting room remodel was "approached in two phases between 2002 and 2005", Restore Oregon writes.

RoxyAnn Wine Reviews

Our wines have received exceptional reviews and quality ratings from magazines such as "Portland Monthly" to reviews from "BTI" and "Wine Enthusiast" to "The 50 BEST Wines in Oregon".

Portland Monthy writes, "IF LOVE IS BLIND, falling for a great wine should happen sight unseen. From classic Pinot to hot-blooded Tempranillo, Oregon wine can hit some amazing highs. But how to choose the best? This year, we asked nine of Portland’s savviest wine pros to pick their favorite current releases."
Wine tastings were conducted over four days, fully blind, with hundreds of brown-bagged bottles hiding their stories and secrets from the panelists’ discerning noses and palates. Wines that made it through to the finals were then carefully tasted for fruit characteristics, acidity, alcohol, balance, tannins, and overall quality, with every decision surrounded by plenty of healthy debate. The result? Our 2009 Claret and 2009 Tempranillo list of Oregon’s 50 most lovable wines available.
